High Arts Day
November 5, 2012
This unique fundraiser provides a full day of fun, fashion, art, and design, with all proceeds benefitting the High.
High Arts Day 2012 will center around the exhibition, Fast Forward: Modern Moments 1913>>2013, featuring more than 100 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installations, and film, made by over 100 different artists. Some of the artists represented will include Umberto Boccioni, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Alberto Giacometti, Gerald Murphy, Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O'Keeffe, Willem de Kooning, Lee Bontecou, General Idea, Mona Hatoum, Kiki Smith, and Jeff Koons.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast and private shopping at Neiman Marcus, followed by tours of two extraordinary Atlanta homes.
Guests are then taken to the Museum to enjoy a boutique trunk show and a silent auction of original art.
Each year original art is created to serve as unique centerpieces for the luncheon tables. This year's centerpieces, plus many other spectacular items, are available in the silent auction.
Art Partners is thrilled to present this year's featured designer, John Oetgen. Recently named one of "The Influentials" by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles
magazine, Oetgen established Oetgen Design
in Atlanta in 1977. He pairs a classic foundation with an upbeat wit and a dash of "next" to create signature interiors, ranging from Georgia manors to Manhattan penthouses. His residential projects include homes in New York, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Mexico, Minnesota, Florida, St. Barts, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C. Oetgen's immense talents extend into the visual arts as well, with September marking the opening of his photography collection at the Hagedorn Foundation Gallery. Oetgen's fresh and daring interiors are the distinguished homes highlighted for this year's High Arts Day.
