You’re invited to a special evening with visual futurist Syd Mead.
Recruited out of college by the Ford Motor Company’s Advanced Styling Studio, Mead left a short time later to launch Syd Mead, Inc., which he still runs today. Mead provides architectural renderings and designs to a long list of clients both locally and internationally. Syd Mead also has designed for most of the major movie studios, working on such feature films as Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Bladerunner, TRON, 2010, Short Circuit, Aliens, Time Cop, Johnny Mnemonic, Mission Impossible III, and Elysium. With transportation design being his first love, Mead seldom misses an opportunity to provide his unique blend of futurism and believability to projects related to vehicles. One of his renderings is included in Dream Cars, which you can check out following the lecture.
