The High Museum, in partnership with the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Young Audiences, is thrilled to announce a collaborative and innovative Professional Learning opportunity for Educators that focuses on reinvigorating teaching and learning through the arts.
The Inaugural Woodruff Arts Center Educator Conference will take place June 3-5, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Woodruff Arts Center. Through Arts Integration and a deeper look at the Common Core Standards and 21st Century Skills, this conference seeks to transform school communities by offering arts opportunities that can be woven into their classroom and curriculum while giving attendees approaches, strategies, and ideas on how to collaborate and work across content lines in new ways.
Attendees will have the opportunity to earn two PLU credits, and we are excited to offer such an extensive professional learning opportunity all delivered through the arts. Registration will be $65. Each day will feature energizer speakers from across the Arts Center and Metro Atlanta Education scene, two hour sessions focusing on 21st Century Skills, Differentiated Learning, STEAM, and Literacy/Social Studies, and offer opportunities to preview and experience the world class art featured and produced at the Arts Center.
Please check back soon for more details about registration, but if you have any further questions, please e-mail Kate McLeod, Coordinator of School Programs.
