Curated Jewelry Show: Lainey Papageorge
Lainey Papageorge

Self-taught Atlanta artist Lainey Papageorge has been designing and fabricating fine jewelry for the past forty years. After graduating from Emory University Lainey moved to Skagway, Alaska, and began her career as a jeweler. She returned to Atlanta in 1980 as the first artist-in-residence at the Signature Shop and went on to open Illumina Gallery at Phipps Plaza, representing one hundred of the best international jewelry artists. She now runs Elaina Designs, her independent studio in Midtown. Lainey's jewelry was selected for an American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Award and has been acquired by both the Museum of Anchorage and the Fernbank Natural History Museum in Atlanta.

Lainey's jewelry line, Elaina Designs, is never commercially stamped-out or mass-produced. She takes pride in offering atelier master craftsmanship by employing traditional goldsmithing techniques, casting, and modern CAD-CAM technology. Natural gems and pearls are paired with precious metals to create timeless designs cherished from one generation to the next.
