The High Museum of Art Volunteer Program provides the opportunity for individuals to assist Museum members and guests and gain customer service skills, while meeting others with similar interests. You will receive a monthly email with volunteer updates, invitations to exclusive volunteer-only events, and exposure to the leading art museum in the southeastern United States

Lecture Program Greeters
Lectures usually begin at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Greeters welcome guests, take tickets, and usher the guests into the auditorium before the program begins. Shifts for Thursday evening and Saturday lectures begin forty-five minutes before the lecture.

Information Desk Volunteers
Volunteers greet visitors and answer general museum questions. Commitment is one shift per month. Shifts are daily from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m.

Friday Jazz Volunteers
Friday Jazz is the third Friday of each month at the High from 5-10 p.m. Volunteers greet guests and distribute programs. Shifts typically run from 6-9 p.m or 7-10 p.m.

Exhibition Volunteers
Volunteers greet visitors and provide directions to and from galleries. Volunteers may also answer exhibition questions, hand out maps and brochures, assist with the member-only line and elevators, and assist with special activities when necessary. Volunteers work three-hour shifts, most often on weekends.

Education Program Volunteers
Volunteers help our visitors explore, create and discover while learning about art with our ongoing family and adult educational programs like Toddler Thursday, Second Sunday Fundays and Drawing in the Galleries.

Film Series Volunteer Greeter
Greeters take tickets and usher guests into the auditorium before the film screenings. The films are typically screened on weekend evenings in the Rich Theatre and begin at 8 p.m.

The High Volunteer Program requires a six month to one year commitment with at least 6 hours (2 shifts) encouraged per month. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
