Jazz Ladies is a program of great vintage jazz shorts from the collection of Jo Milgram, (1916—2005), a French jazz enthusiast who became friends with many American musicians who passed through Paris during the 1930s and thereafter.

He began collecting jazz films in 1970 and amassed one of the finest collections in the world. This program, which is being circulated by the Alliance Française in collaboration with the Cinematheque of Dance in Paris, features performances by Valaida Snow, Dorothy Dandridge, Sarah Vaughan, Tessie Maize, Ethel Waters, Ella Fitzgerald, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, and many other equally stellar talents.
