Docents
Create a lifelong passion for art.
The High Museum of Art depends on its docent volunteers to be the Museum's "face" to its visitors. Docents create memorable experiences for visitors ranging in age from kindergarten students to seniors. More than 100 docents collectively conduct about 1200 tours each year. In addition to tours at the Museum, docents can also share their art knowledge through presentations at local community centers.
Docents for the High Museum of Art typically have a background in education or similar fields. They share a strong sense of camaraderie, and enjoy the personal enrichment that comes through the academic training they receive and the pleasure in passing their knowledge along to others.
