Abelardo Morell’s photographs turn everyday objects into beautiful pieces of a magical world. Through his lens books, bedrooms, leaves, even crumpled paper take on new life. We all have a unique perspective. How do you see the world? How can you share your view with others?

Explore the various functions of masks in African Mask/Masquerade: More Than Meets the Eye. Consider how masks are used in Africa and how people in your community, maybe even you, might use masks of a different sort. What are you trying to convey with your mask?

Support for the Teen Team is provided by
The High Museum of Art's Teen Team is a group of creative high school students who share a common interest in art and community engagement. The Teen Team gets behind-the-scenes access to the Museum, plans teen nights and events, assists with our summer camp, and learns about the Museum's exhibitions and collections. Most importantly, they tell us what's working for teens at the High and what's not.
Intersection X Where Process Meets Innovation
This past summer, the Teen Team, in an experiment never-before attempted, curated an exhibition of prints from the High's Modern and Contemporary Art collection. In just seven weeks, the Teen Team worked with Museum staff to coordinate all aspects of the exhibition, from researching the artworks, designing the exhibition layout, and writing wall labels, to painting and spackling gallery walls and installing the show. The resulting Intersection X was a celebration of group process, innovation, and art. Check out photos of Intersection X, and read
this review of the exhibition in BurnAway!

The Teen Team was lucky enough to work with three local (seriously awesome) artists whose work was a part of Drawing Inside the Perimeter. Fahamu Pecou, Alex Brewer (HENSE), and Seana Reilly all stopped by to hang out, make art and share stories about being a working artist.
