Mark your calendar for live jazz in the High’s atrium on the third Friday of every month, hosted by Jamal Ahmad from Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Atlanta’s jazz station! Music, drinks, art—no matter the month, every Friday Jazz offers a great lineup featuring different styles of jazz, from straight ahead to free jazz, bebop to swing, and more.
April features pianist Emmanuel “Chops” Smith who has been playing piano since age three. Trained in classical, jazz, and contemporary music, “Chops” has performed in venues throughout the Southeast and with such artists as Russell Malone, Chris Potter, Paquito D’Rivera, Kenny Werner, Randy Brecker, and more. Seating for Friday Jazz is limited and opens at 6 p.m. There is no reserved seating. Standing room is plentiful. Friday Jazz is FREE with Museum admission and FREE for members.
