Young Professionals

The Young Professionals at the High Museum of Art bring together the creative community in Atlanta to support the Museum and art education. These culture chasers and philanthropists are at the center of the High’s activities and the city’s arts scene thanks to exclusive events, special previews, and access to other cultural institutions around Atlanta. It’s the Young Professional members, ages 21 to 39, who are the future of the Museum, and we can’t wait to see what your support does to innovate the High.

Since moving to Atlanta in 2012, the High Museum has been a huge part of my life. Attending the Young Professional events is something I truly enjoy; to now play a part in the process is extremely exciting!

I’m a third generation Atlantan and grew up going to The High, so I feel duty-bound to give back to such an integral part of Atlanta’s cultural landscape. I’m excited to be a YP because our programs bridge the gap between generations of Atlantans and create a broader, more diverse community of support for the museum. I believe in what The High represents culturally for Atlanta and the larger Southeast, and I’m passionate about seeing young people like me become the future of the museum.

Since I was young, culture and the arts were always celebrated and encouraged in my family. When looking for organizations to contribute to, the High’s Young Professional group was a great opportunity to promote the arts in Atlanta and help engage other young professionals in a great organization. I’m excited to work with the other members of the board and see what we can achieve together this year.

I am a YP Committee member because I am passionate about engaging other art creators and enthusiasts, gaining new perspectives, and producing dialogue about art in Atlanta.

Joining the YP group at the High has been a really positive experience as a relatively new ATLien. After attending the successful Highball 2017 mixology event, I knew I wanted to join the YP Committee to help spread the word to other young transplants about the incredible programming going on at the High Museum!

Since moving to Atlanta, the High Museum quickly became one of my favorite spots. Whether it was jazz night with friends or making new friends through the YP membership, it’s helped me foster my appreciation for the arts and branch out in my new city. I’m excited to join the YP committee and share my love of the High and all of the amazing things it offers residents of Atlanta.

I have always been passionate about the arts, so it is an honor to serve on the YP committee. I look forward to using approachable programming as a way to make the arts more accessible to young professionals.

The High Museum, specifically the young professionals group, was one of the first organizations I joined after moving to Atlanta because of its parallel with a passion of mine. The prominence of the High and the investment it’s placed in the YP group provide an exceptional platform that ensures a new generation of leaders invest in and become ingrained with their community to effect positive impact through philanthropy and volunteerism.

    Katie Winokur

I have a deep personal and professional commitment to advancing the arts, and this committee is doing a fantastic job of furthering the High’s mission and helping new audiences find meaning and inspiration in the Museum and its collection.
